Mali struggles to fight with the bad climate that would damage agricultural production which caused the price of foods to be significantly higher in the. However, as new season approach, they are getting more rains which stimulated the grow of agricultural. The government also helped out by levied import taxes on rice. The author also stated that Mali has to get over its addiction to rice and start growing other crops in higher quantities.
I think this is a good sign of relieve to the people in Mali. They are not a wealthy like the United States so having enough food to survive is a blessing. This also prove that the government played a crucial role in economic.
